New and Exciting

Things are going along fairly well, I just put my software up on Download.com and Tucows, and I have been getting some interest, but nothing to scream about.

The best exposure is on Google where I have purchased some click-through advertising. If you search on POS or on Inventory Management I am ranked as high as second. (Note: please if you are testing this do not click through to my site, as it costs me $ when you do, unless of course you want to seriously look at the stuff) . I have had only a handful of sales to this point but I am working to make my applications better. I am presently looking into adding the ability for it to use laser UPC code readers and print UPC codes, slowly building it out into a full blown POS system.

Thanks to Silverstr for the heads up.

Wish me luck, it is a lot of work and it is getting better...slowly…

BTW, a couple tips for better google placement:

1) Make good use of the tag in your HTML documents. Throw your keywords in there (ie: TyMar Software: Inventory Management and POS (Point of Sale) Software

2) Use your keywords to name your HTML files - for example, instead of inman.html, try inventorymanagement.html.

3) Pepper cross-pollinating links throughout the site - for example, from the Update Guru page, link to the InMan page, using one of your keywords (ie: POS Software or Inventory Management)

4) Don't just use hyperlinks in the menus... put them inside text on the site as well

Did you get my email about UPC stuff?

Are you planning to support not only UPC codes, but also barcodes in general?

Barcodes, such as code 39 or 93 or 128) are useful for putting onto items that come without a UPC code, or are manufactured or modified in someway, or for providing unique serialized codes for each item passing through the system. (UPC codes aren't unique.)
