More Problems

More grief, I reloaded( actually still re-installing and restoring data), and I have myself a shinny new XP install, but Norton Ghost still won't work.

Any Hints would be greatly appreciated?

Here's what happened the other day:

I was Cloning a partition with Ghost, and left the room (apparently that is crucial), I come back and it has completed but there is a message about not being able to reboot. It gave a couple of different choices to try and re-initialize the boot partition. I choose to go with a unhidden partition. Then my drive letters all changed once it did finally reboot. Ever since that Ghost won't do anything but load the main screen, as soon as you do anything, click options for instance, it gives a General Exception.

I need to either get that fixed or find a new application that will clone or copy partitions.

I back up my computer with Norton Ghost... I do it on a regular basis, mirroring partitions from one drive to the other for data redundancy.

I install MSN Messenger... the next day.. Ghost has a problem; Windows reassigns all my drive letters. I take the time to reassign them back and now Norton Ghost doesn’t run.

I try re-install.. Knowledgebase search.. NOTHING..

Guess who is going to wipe out the boot partition and reload this weekend?
Who cannot use Ghost to back up his data before such a bold move?

Maybe I will stick to ICQ.

WTF?

When is the owner of the Canucks going to realize that in order to win the big prize they are going to have to spend some money. I mean sure Jovo, Nazzy, and you could even include Arvedson, are out, and Matt Cooke is just starting to get mean again, but we are really lacking another superstar.

I heard rumor that they were talking with Leech, so who knows. It just seems like they are not playing with the same heart. I am in no way withdrawing my claim to fame for them this year

More on the Challenge

The idea I had revolved around incentive and commitment. We are all fairly intelligent people, and in my case at this moment not that well endowed (get your mind out of the gutter) “Financially”.

I know not everyone knows this but I have a bad past full of bad habits most of which I QUIT COLD TURKEY. There is one thing that many of us (maybe I should just speak for myself), can't quit, or seem to get on track, and that is WEIGHT.

The Weight Challenge simple put, may just be the answer, some support and direct incentive to carry out the task, without having to pay for the consultations, and or pounds lost. Scoobyd had an excellent suggestion to help include those that don't need to loose as much (for instance, if she lost too much she might then be anorexic, and that would lead to a weight gain challenge). Arcterex had an excellent point, where some don't need to loose pounds, they want inches ( again.. out of the gutter).

Weight Loss Challenge Possibilities

• weekly reports on weight loss or gain


• calculations to put everyone on an even playing filed


• categories for inches as well as pounds


• target setting and achieving


• most importantly support from others

Let me know if you think it will work, I just think it would be neat. We could have a big party at the end of the 6 months, and if for any reason other than better health, a party is kewl isn't it?

Weight Loss Challenge

I have this idea...

Ok this is for the benefit of those serious enough, dedicated enough, and overweight enough; what I propose is Weight Loss Challenge. It would be beneficial to all those involved as it would help keep us dedicated.

So, anyone interested? I have a bunch of ideas for it but I am not even going to start if there are no takers. The only thing I can say is that it could be calibrated to take into consideration just how much there is to loose and such.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Oh and the great thing with this event is that all those who participate end up winners!

Cold Blessed

Here I am blessed again with another mean mother of a cold. This year it seems like I just get rid of one and I get another. I have a line on some scookum throat lozenges that contain magical power that I am going to try. Timothy Leary apparently used them, so what the heck; only thing I can't figure out is he said he dropped them all the time? Well as long as he uses the 5 second rule I guess you can pick them up and still eat them.

Seriously I very special friend takes there lozenges that contain Zinc, and Echinacea and colds seem to elude her so I am going to try them out.

Last night I had the honor of attending a Canucks game, and I would like let everyone know that it was awesome. For those of you who are now saying “they lost against Calgary, what was so awesome"? The awesome thing was that I was given the ticket (lower bowl 17 rows up from ice level), and got to go with a very good friend. Thank you Bear, it was an awesome game despite the loss because you enabled me to be there to see it. I am grateful, and feel for a certain individual that had to miss the game, thanks again to the both of you!

It's looking a lot like Golf

It’s looking a lot like golf out there, although once I step outside it feels otherwise. The sun is shinning and it is absolutely beautiful outside.

Maybe I will dust the clubs off and be on the ready side of things. I could just go hit some balls at the driving range, or just go up and have a cold one at the club so I acclimatize myself to the surroundings for yet another season.

Clarification

All of the email mentioned in my previous post was filtered and didn't infect my box. It has just been a pain that I have had so many hits on my company's email addresses.

Up The Hooper

I received a feature request the other day for a change to InMan, my current feature product, I thanked the person for pointing it out, decided it was a great idea, coded it, tested it, changed the documentation, rebuilt the install, updated the update file for my update system, and uploaded then retested everything form the site. This took a few hours, after which I sent a reply back to the person thanking him for the request, and informing him that it was such a good idea I implemented it.

So you may ask why "Up the Hooper”?

Well the above situation makes a guy feel good...

Current Thought
I hope up my mail and check it regularly, when I see mail coming in on my business accounts I think " oh maybe a sale", or “maybe a thank you for implementing the request so fast".

Reality
Just a bunch more hits from the W32.Mydoom.A@mm or Norvarg virus.

I think I need to use more butter in my ass because it is starting to hurt !

Boo Hiss

OK, maybe I spoke to hastily about the Canucks resent surge of success. They have blown two games in a row on stupid defensive moves my offensive players. But you know what? It doesn't hurt the scheme of things at this point, Arvedson got injured and the Sedin twins are still playing awesome, they will still come out on top in the long run.. "You just gots at Believe”!

Accepting VISA Online

I am looking into accepting VISA payments for my software online as well as the Pay Pal that I currently have in place. Some people have mentioned they dislike having to create a Pay Pal account to buy anything.

Any suggestions on what site to go with that offers these services?
