I am really upset; smoking mad would be a better description though. I have been a fan for I don’t know how many years of the West Coast team. I have stood by and watched many different flavours of Canucks play though, and that is what hurts the most.
It is hard to cheer for a team when you don’t know which one shows up to play. Naslund was perfectly capable of racing down the ice and going to the net for almost 3 periods but it wasn't until the last minute that he thought he would give it a go. But that is just one example, I think there needs to be a big shake up in the organization. I think Linden should be given back the captaincy because Naslund is no leader. I think that some of the players need to be moved out of the organization.
I would rather see a team play their hearts out and loose than see them lolly-gag around the ice and only try when it is on their terms.
I think it is time to start cheering for a real hockey club.

Gotta agree with you though, Calgary definately deserved to win. Jovo taking stupid pentalties and giving it away in our zone many times, and the rest of the team just not playing with heart it seemed the rest of the game (or until the last few minutes of the third. We really had none of the intensity of the 2nd in game 6 (before we pissed away a 4-0 lead) and game 1.
*sigh*
Time to get back to real life.

Posted by: SilverStr at April 19, 2004 11:46 PMYou forget... this is the life of a Vancouver sports fan.
A vancouver team winning a playoff is almost a letdown! You expect your team to do poorly in the playoffs, because that's what they've always done! ;)
Posted by: Darren at April 20, 2004 09:19 AMIt isn't the right year yet. 2006 is the next year the Canucks make a run to the Stanley Cup final.
They were founded and began play in 1970.
1982 they make a surprise run to the Stanley Cup final.
1994 they make another urn to the Stanley Cup Final.
12 years between each event means that 2006 is the next year.
At least it is something to hope for. ;-)
