My latest bitch, and it is one that I think you all will warrant, is campers that think laws don’t apply. Actually it goes beyond that, it is campers that think they are beyond the laws of common decency. You see I live in the Chilliwack River Valley, which is separate from the Fraser Valley, when you make the turn onto our road quite often you will smell something: CLEAN AIR. The turn also brings about the wilderness in some peoples minds; to us it is just the road. Campers line the sand bars that are formed by the Chilliwack River and set up tents.
Now for the bitching: you see I like tenting, camping and all that, having fun is great. YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR GARBAGE WITH YOU. These people, usually from the big city think they can leave it all behind, hence the picture here of garbage in a pile on the beach. To beat all we now have bears coming down (see other picture) to investigate the garbage.
On a separate note, during the fire ban (province wide, that has now been lifted), we were nightly calling the fire department to report raging bonfires on the river. Seems these idiots also have no respect for FOREST FIRES, which are usually caused by such carelessness.
GO HOME AND POLUTE YOUR OWN BACKYARD...
Well I have started a new routine, after spending 6 weeks on one that didn't seem to be doing much. The new figures are in:
Official Workout Numbers
The new routine is so hard you want to puke half way through, but I will get used to it. My goal of 100 lbs by my birthday seems out of reach at this point, but I might hit 90 lbs. Still I started all this at the end of March, so I figure I have done awesome.

Well Tyler and I were bored, and had some time on our hands so we decided to do Lindamen Lake on Friday the 13th.
We have been as previously mentioned, hiking quite a bit so we got overly confident. This hike is supposed to take over an hour, but we blasted up the first half without any regard for pace and saving energy for the STEEP section. Least to say we were kind of rubber legged when we reached the top, making the lake in 40 minutes. What a view when you get there though. The lake is only the first of two on this trail; we plan to make Greendrop later this month.

One of the things that my son Tyler and I have been doing is continuing on our hikes. We have gotten to the point where we can make it up Teapot hill with only one stop to catch our breath. This picture was of a spider’s web that was caught by the sunlight and looked very kewl. We figure that we will do Teapot a few more times then do Lindamen Lake , which is one step up in difficulty. It also excellent lake to fish in as not a lot of people get up there.
Our eventual goal is to hike Elk Mountain , which is rated as difficult, and will take most of the day to complete. Of course pictures will follow as each of these hikes take place.
Also, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a group hike to Lindamen Lake in September. The plan would be simple, get out in the wilderness and get some fresh air. Let me know.

Many things have happened since I last regularly posted, the family went to our friends Annual Anniversary Barbeque (as linked by the picture here of the spit roasted piggy's behind).
We had a blast as we do every year, and It was an "official cheat day" so I made sure I have plenty of food, drink, and deserts. Yes deserts! I stuffed myself and it felt good, I deserved that after all the work I put in to loose 75 pounds in 4 1/2 months.
Any way, I have linked the web album I made-up for the Durren's to the picture of the pig's rather roasted behind if you’ all want to take a peak
.
It has been awhile, yes I am alive and doing well. Today however I am a little out of balance. I arrived at the YMCA and found it to be closed due to an electrical problem. The lights are all out and they are allowing nobody inside. So, what the heck do I do for exercise?
Well, what I have been doing is trying to get back on track. The entire month of July was spent at roughly the same weight. I reached the 75 lb of weight loss and proceeded to gain back 5-8, the loose 5-8 then gain etc. I changed the amount of carbs I was eating from 20 or less a day to about 30-40 a day. This would be great for maintaining, even loosing really slowly, but not for weight loss at the rate I was at.
So I am back on full blown Atkins Induction, and I have lost 10 lbs in a week, back to the 75 lb mark and heading to 80.

It has been a while since I have been in front of the computer for more than a few minutes. I have been taking a break from everything to spend more time with my family, and more importantly myself. Last week Tyler and I climbed Teapot Hill, a local hike that is part of the Cultus Lake set of trails. The first picture here is from the first lookout at the top which overlooks Cultus Lake.
The second one here is of a giant Devil's Club that was growing just off the trail and was being highlighted by a beam of sunlight. It caught my interest, so I stopped and snapped it.
The hike itself is listed as a 2hr return trip to the lookout, but even with our numerous stops for Tyler to catch his breath we made it up in about 45 minutes and down in 20. This hiking thing is new to me as I have always been to big to hike more than 2o yards without stopping. It feels so good to be able to get out and do things in life that up until now have only been in dreams.
