Well it was such a nice day I figured we should enjoy it a little, so Tyler and I decided to go p Teapot for the first time this year. It was late in the afternoon as you can see from the first picture, and I was surprised how cold it was despite the warmth in the valley. As you can see from the second picture there is some snow in the cooler shaded areas, so Ty posed for a picture.

We managed to shave off abut 10 minutes from our average time from last year. I credit that to working out 6 days a week, but it was seriously a nice feeling to not have to stop for a rest. Another thing, it was packed, I mean we saw about 30 others on our short little hike, and I knew 5 of them from the gym or elsewhere.
Beats laying around the house…
It has been awhile since I have posted anything about working out or how it is coming, so here goes:
I am still hanging at about the 90lb weight loss mark. I have however leaned out a lot more over the last few months. I have started Running if you can believe that. Actually it is interval training that is supposed to be better for you than running. I never ever thought I would ever be able to run.
So my goal is still to loose 100lbs by April 15th, which will be roughly a year since I started all of this. Who knows, one thing is very clear, I am HEALTHIER than I have been almost my entire life. I still go to the gym 6 days a week and I regularly get told I am an inspiration to many people.
Those that know me know I don't usually pat my own back for anything, so I am doing it now. The only thing that really bothers me is that some people get endorsements for loosing this much weight. Where are my millions? I would tell everyone I ate McDonalds every day for a year and lost 100 lbs if it meant $ $ $ $
I would like to thank everyone who has given me support; food is a hard habit to break, but it has really been a change in lifestyle for me.
I was talking to a friend at the gym the other day (boy does that sound cliché), and we got talking about hiking. I mentioned that Tyler and I hiked Teapot a lot last year, and we were looking forward to hiking this year. We got talking about the increased Bear sightings already this year, and she mentioned that a friend of hers that hikes Teapot almost daily said she saw a Cougar eating a freshly killed deer on the side of the trail.
Well as usual I took it as regular Gym talk, therefore not too seriously, but yesterday I got talking with one of the guys that runs Vedder Mountain Field Supply, the place where Ty and I got our boots and other hiking stuff. He was telling me that not only was it true, but the conservation officers went up the other day and moved the carcass off the trial. I guess the Cougar killed this deer right on the trail that everyone walks. So the chances of an encounter with it feeding were very high. He also mentioned that there have been several sighting of this Cougar (a big male) and a smaller female.
Now I told this to Tyler last night at dinner, and he was a little hesitant to want to hike any time soon. The thing is though a Cougar that is stuffing him/herself on a deer is a HAPPY Cougar and will not be interested in man as a food source. This was also a comment made by the conservation officers, it is a good sign, but it is rather odd to actually see a Cougar, they are solitary animals and rarely are seen let alone feeding. Usually you don’t see them until they are starving and that is not the kind you want to see.
Well I learned a few things about MT the last 5 days or so, some things make sense and some don't. The good thing is that I am back up and running, this entry should post, the comments and subsequent notifications should be made and received.
Maybe the notification emails will magically show up overnight.
I give up for today, after searching the web and trying too many things, I will try again tomorrow.
Well I had quite the day, one thing valuable I learned "Netscape Sucks"!
If you are going to use the MT Import/Export utility, then use FireFox to save your entries.
I still have to change the look to more of a personal feeling, so that is next, but I am through for today, will tackle it tomorrow.
Going to try something here, just an idea.
I fixed the style sheet issue with my entry screen, then I received a comment notification from silverstr, indicating that it could be a problem with the style sheet..
The point here is that no comments are showing up now. So much for the simple upgrade, I can't even post a comment to my own BLOG. Searching for answers online, if anyone has a clue let me know.
Thanks
Well that was fairly painless, and of course I should have done it long ago. I am now running MT-3.1 and MTBlacklist 2.04b.
The only thing I don't like is the entry screen I am typing in right now is the size of a postage stamp and only allows about 5 words wide while typing, very strange and CRAMPED to say the least, if anyone knows how to change this it would be greatly appreciated.
Other than that the install and upgrade only took about 30 minutes. Now I am curious as to whether or not it will stop or slow down the SPAM.
