Bear and I took in game seven of the Chilliwack Chief's first round series against the Coquitlam Express . We also have been to a few other games in the series, but tonight’s was awesome. They played a disciplined game, and despite the Express’s ability to get goals to tie it up entering the third period, they stuck to their game and pulled it off wonderfully.
On a side note, Kurt Russell's son plays as the backup goalie for the Express; He was in the line up a few in front of us, when I was getting popcorn. My first thought was:
"Gee he looks smaller than in the movies".
I mentioned that to a lady behind me and she said:
"Doesn’t matter, it's Kurt Russell"
So I said to her:
"I don’t quite get that?"
She then says:
"If it was Goldie Hawn would it matter to you if she was a little shorter than in the movies?"
You know, she has a point there.
Any way...
Go Chiefs Go
Well Tyler and I went for our usual weekend hike up Teapot Hill; we made it in record time, shaving 10 minutes off our average form last year. What I couldn't believe was the amount of people on the trail. It was ridiculous. I am taking at least 50 people on the trail at any one given time.
We are going to have to start hiking somewhere else.

Well it was a late decision, but we did it. Marlee took her first actual hike up Teapot Hill. Here is a photo of her at the top overlooking the lake. It was a big step for a little girl, and I am proud of her. We talked about it this morning while cleaning the car. I got up early and Marlee and I detailed the inside of our car, and as a reward I asked her if she wanted to go on the hike Tyler and I take on Sundays.
Well, she was walking around with her head held high all day, and despite me not getting home from a visit to Bear'suntil almost 4:00pm we still made the hike. I couldn't let her down; she was all ready at the door when I got home.
So we headed up and made it back home by 6:15pm, it was fun, I had to hold her hand out of fear by myself only. She was not at all scared of the steep sections nor the heights and the long way down in one place. Who knows maybe it is Lindamen Lake bound for her later this year.
