Hooked on a Monster

I don't usually watch too much TV, my take on it is that it destroys brain cells and I have already done enough of that in my life, but that's another entire entry. I have been hooked on Monster Garage of late, a really kewl show on Discovery that follows the theme of Junkyard Wars , only there is only one team and one man in charge. Jesse James (apparently a direct descendant of the real Jesse James), a well known custom bike fabricator and design guru, puts together these teams to do wild things to normal vehicles. There was the Porsche 914 driving range golf ball retriever/ cannon, or the stretch limo/fire truck, and who can forget the Ford Explorer garbage truck. Tonight's episode was the shark cage pontoon house boat with the nitrous oxide boost and mega sound system.

If you have a spare hour in your busy day, it is well worth the watch. Check out the link above for show times.

Bad Luck

Last night was the usual league racing at slots, and Tyler and I showed up ready to go; with my volunteering at the track we don't pay for racing(that's affordable). Since I have been broke I decided to sell some of my stuff to get some much needed cash. Basically I have one of the fastest cars so it is not hard to sell, and I had a buyer immediately. Well with my luck he buys it, and half way through the NASCAR race the motor blows. So, I had to take the money I just made, and buy a new engine and now have to break this new engine in, and mount and tune it for the person who bought my car. My cost on the car was about $120, I sold it for $60 and then had to buy a new engine for $20. Lucky guy eh?

Paul Tracy Wins 3rd in a Row

This is like a Canadian Sports Day.
Paul Tracy wins his 3rd straight CART Series race at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Paul, this year racing for Team Players Forsythe Racing is well on his way to this years championship.

I also haven't mentioned(I guess I should because Shaaron is a curling fan), that Randy Ferbey captured The Worlds today as well. Big day for Canadian sports.

As I write this the Edmonton Oilers just beat Dallas Whoa! ! !
