It was such a fantastic day yesterday I couldn’t sit around and let it go to waste. So, I got up early, went to the gym and worked out for a few hours, came home and updated the Blog, then went for a hike with Tyler.
The trail was totally awesome, as it was covered, you might even say littered with leaves. This is my favourite time of year; the mountains are alive with colour. After we reached the end of the trail (Teapot Hill), we decided to stop at a spot where the leaves were almost a foot thick on the trail and made a huge leaf pile so Tyler could jump in it. Okay for the record, I DIDN"T JUMP IN IT (although I was tempted). So here is a picture taken as Tyler was hitting the pile.

Well Tyler and I were bored, and had some time on our hands so we decided to do Lindamen Lake on Friday the 13th.
We have been as previously mentioned, hiking quite a bit so we got overly confident. This hike is supposed to take over an hour, but we blasted up the first half without any regard for pace and saving energy for the STEEP section. Least to say we were kind of rubber legged when we reached the top, making the lake in 40 minutes. What a view when you get there though. The lake is only the first of two on this trail; we plan to make Greendrop later this month.

One of the things that my son Tyler and I have been doing is continuing on our hikes. We have gotten to the point where we can make it up Teapot hill with only one stop to catch our breath. This picture was of a spider’s web that was caught by the sunlight and looked very kewl. We figure that we will do Teapot a few more times then do Lindamen Lake , which is one step up in difficulty. It also excellent lake to fish in as not a lot of people get up there.
Our eventual goal is to hike Elk Mountain , which is rated as difficult, and will take most of the day to complete. Of course pictures will follow as each of these hikes take place.
Also, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a group hike to Lindamen Lake in September. The plan would be simple, get out in the wilderness and get some fresh air. Let me know.

It was a long day yesterday, after we got home from Krispy Kreme, I barbecued and we headed out to the fireworks. Of course Chilliwack's budget for fireworks has always been pretty small. I mean it is not hard to impress a bunch of farm boys( sarcastic prejudice only). On that note, we get to the parking lot where the picture of Marlee was taken, and in the day where car stereo can cause heart palpitations, there is what sounds like an old 8-track playing "it is not hard to be a redneck" just load enough to hear the $2.99 Wal-Mart special speakers crackling.
Oh well, the pictures of the fireworks themselves were kind of messy. My camera has a sunset setting which I guess you need a tripod or stationary object for, as all the pics are blurry time lapsed things. I am learning.

As many of you know I have been on a life changing quest the last 4 months switching to the Atkins way of life, and working out. Well as part of this we have planned cheat days, and today was it, as you can see it was Krispy Kreme again.
Ok, so I started it off with the suggestion, so where's the photos? Well I have been busy the last few days and have decided to start the month of July as Photo Month. I have created the trackback to Speakeasy
, so everything is in place. I figured that it was a little weird starting off near the end of the month. Almost as weird as the way tiggersol
spelt my name , but that is another issue
:)
So, I am taking the camera out with me on my travels and taking pictures like a mad man. They will be posted soon
